GeoConnections, a Canadian initiative to link location-based information using the power of the Internet, invites Canadian companies to submit proposals to Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for Development of Innovative Technologies for Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) Users.
Working with a host of partners, GeoConnections harnesses private-sector innovation to help Canadian decision-makers address issues in four priority areas: public health, public safety and security, the environment and sustainable development, and matters of importance to Aboriginal peoples.
Canadian companies are invited to submit proposals to conduct projects addressing one of the following four RFP Target Areas:
- Georeferenced Document Management
- Access Control and Authentication
- SensorWeb
- Distributed Data Discovery and Access

Objectives
This GeoConnections opportunity is for private sector proponents to develop specific technologies, in collaboration with user organizations. These innovative technologies are to be developed in response to user needs and to be deployed operationally within at least one collaborating organization as a result of projects supported under this solicitation.
The closing date for submission of project proposals is January 15, 2007.
